Images are from a series of still portraits created by processing video of subjects through a video synthesizer system (with occasional use of other video effects gear) and then extracting frames. While sometimes retaining a recognizable likeness, the goal is less to represent individuals than to use them as a starting point for a series of chain reactions within the mostly analog processing system. The resultant images depict a space in between the subject and the limits, parameters, and possibilities of a standard definition NTSC video signal.
